Glad you're here. Welcome.

Hi. I'm Yvette.
Â
I've spent much of my life building containers that support humans living our best lives....communities, relationships, families, businesses, events, and even a few new beginnings.Â

I'm a small business specialist, entrepreneur, facilitator, writer, and lifelong student of what helps people thrive.  I've owned and operated small businesses, including building a boutique catering company to $250k in annual revenue, and a start up local news publication as a single mom on a shoestring budget. I've hired scads of people across a vast array of demographics, served clients from around the world, managed cash flow, solved problems at ridiculous hours, made expensive mistakes, broken records, changed direction, started over, and experienced first hand what happens when the person running the business gets lost in the business. I've learned when to delegate and when to just suck it up and get my hands dirty.
I've also savored wins and celebrated massive success.
Â
That matters here, because I don't believe business owners need another loud mouth guru standing at the front of the room telling us how we oughta live. Awkward! I believe we need confidential council settings, where smart people can put down the armor, think out loud, learn from one another, tell the truth about what's working and what isn't, and leave trusting ourselves a little more than when we arrived.Â

My education helps me understand human behavior, what stress does to a body and how to manage it, how to nurture our relationships, how to communicate, how to experience post trauma growth, and how to look change right in the eye and make it work for you.
Â
My business experience helps me understand the practical realities of entrepreneurship.
Â
My life experience taught me something perhaps even more important: People usually know ALOT more than we think we do! Sometimes we just need enough safety, curiosity, perspective, and connection to hear ourselves again.Â

That idea became Lantern House Experience. I don't sit at the head of some fancy table with all the answers. I create and facilitate the table where we can find better ones together. Sometimes I'll be the one with a challenge, and other times I'll bring something to celebrate. We learn from and support each other every time we gather. Â
